Title: Accredited Course Academic Database (ACAD)

Client: Engineering Council UK

Description: The national register of accredited engineering courses is maintained by the Engineering Council UK. This database comprises some 4000 course records with extensive information on the course content, accreditaion and location.
The data base has 2 distinct web interfaces. The first is for authorised users only and provides all the facilities to add and maintain course information, produce management reports and provide approval pending changes. The second web interface is a publicly available search facility whis is hosted on the ECUK website.

Title: Account Management

Client: Your Connection

Description: Your Connection provide a range of telecommunication services to business and domestic customers. Their primary outlet is via a website. Staff and Agents need to be kept up to date with phone service tariffs and client usage. Data on calls and rates provided electronically from the various phone companies. Your Connection required a secure online set of applications to provide this information.

Work completed by Helix: The design and development of a MySql database, Web user interfaces, VB Software to provide the required functionality. This included graphing of sales performance, data uploading functions, user account management, maintainance of tariff tables and a CMS system to keep the site updated.

Title: Project Synopsis

Client: TERU Research - Goldsmiths University

Description: Teru carry out research projects for various parties including schools, industry and the government. Teru commissioned Helix to develop a new website that included a means of publishing synopsis of the various projects completed by Teru. The system needed to be easily maintainable online via a secure application. The list of projects needed to be displayed by category and searchable by keywords and phrases.

Work completed by Helix: The design and development of a MySql database, Web user interfaces, VB Software to provide the required functionality. The development of user interfaces to allow simple creation and updating of projects. The solution combined a CMS system with custom functionality and database indexing. The CMS system extends to the whole site to provide easy site content maintenance.
