Description: The Eden Essentials website is a specialised ecommerce site offering books and gifts for gardeners and ecologists. It includes options for the buyer to make donations to the charity Seeds for Africa whos patrons include Alan Titchmarsh MBE.
Helix developed a high impact website that includes searching and browsing of the 1000 or so products on offer. Backend administration provides easy maitainence of the product database and also provides full order processing. A bespoke shopping basket is provided that includes facilities to accept donations.

Title: Adoption Agency database

Client: Not Disclosed

Description: A private Adoption Agency required a replacement database management application to provide application registration and adoption approval tracking for individuals applying to adopt. Details of placed children and their birth parents were also included. In addition a invoicing and mailing facility was to be included.

To ensure easy access to all members of the agency staff within the offices a intranet application was developed that include a secure permissions base access to the database. The completed project was deployed to the agency servers and the data from the exsisting Filemaker Pro database was migrated to the new system.

Title: Dual Language Extranet with document library

Client: Tribal Group - National Lottery

Description: The Big Hand website is provided by the National Lottery to support out reach workers and there clients in Wales in making more successful applications for national lottery funding. The site is a Extranet site requiring the user to log in to gain access to the various resources provided. The brief was to provide a Content Management System (CMS) that was intuitive to use by the out reach workers so that they could manage user access and update the information resources. In addition the out reach workers have access to a resticted area that includes a document management system where they can upload monthly reports. These reports can then be accessed by the scheme managers.

The site is dual language, English and Welsh, and provides a simple system of switching from one to the other.

Work completed by Helix: The design and development of a MySql database, Web user interfaces, VB Software to provide the required functionality. The development of user interfaces to allow simple uploading of documents. The solution combined a CMS system with custom functionality. The CMS system extends to the whole site to provide easy site content maintenance.
